“The First Ripple” is a hybrid artwork that merges painting with sculptural relief, creating a bridge between Romanian mythology and cosmic symbolism. The maiden represents purity, intuition, and the quiet force of creation, while the Dacian wolf steps forward as her companion — a protector of heritage and a guide into new stories.
The sculptural elements extend beyond the canvas to show that imagination refuses confinement; it breaks the frame, escapes the boundaries, and reshapes culture. Each ripple of color suggests how every choice, emotion, and memory radiates outward into our personal and collective identity.
This piece stands at the core of my new Romanian-themed cycle — a rebirth of tradition through modern mixed-media forms, blending ancestral motifs with futurist, cosmic aesthetics.
